Gala of Hope 2007
5,425 desperately needy children are now being fed.
The Gala of Hope 2007 raised $58,000, a 50% increase over the previous year. As planned, the proceeds are distributed to feed the children in the schools of parishes of the diocese of Gonaives who do not yet have sister parishes in our archdiocese. With the help of the superintendent of schools of Gonaives, 15 schools have been identified where the children are at especially high risk for malnutrition and starvation. Those 15 schools will now be able to feed 5,425 children with $49,500 allocated to them. Other schools are still being identified for the remainder of the proceeds.
